 THE RESULTS ARE IN!

What started out as friendly teasing between Vergennes Partnership Board members turned into the biggest rivalry in the Champlain Valley Scott Gaines (veteran VP Board Member) versus Cory Foote (newest VP Board Member). During our 2025 Fundraising Campaign, donors were asked to vote for either Team Scott or Team Cory. The donation amounts associated with each vote were tracked along with our grand total.

It was a close competitionwith some supporters kindly and diplomatically voting for bothbut TEAM SCOTT was ultimately the victor! Unfortunately for Scott, we added a bittersweet twist: the winner earns bragging rights for the year but must don the uniform of their most despised sports team to keep them humble. For Scott, as a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan, that meant suiting up in full New York Yankees gear!

As you can tell from the video and photos below, victory has never looked so pinstriped! Yankees swag courtesy of former Vergennes Police Chief George Merkel and current Chief Jason Ouelletteboth huge Yankees fans, they absolutely delighted in Scott’s misery!
