An exciting new holiday tradition is rolling into the Little City — created by Vergennes Partnership volunteers !

For many years, Partnership volunteers have hosted the beloved “Ho Ho Ho Holiday Stroll” on the first Saturday in December, featuring breakfast with Santa, holiday crafts, and the early evening lighting of City Park.

This year, the Vergennes Recreation Committee is hosting their own family-friendly Holiday Craft Fair with Santa at Vergennes Elementary School (9AM-3PM) so the Partnership is ramping up our evening festivities with Vergennes’ first-ever Holiday Roll Tractor Parade!

A lineup of tractors, riding mowers, and side-by-sides decked out in holiday lights — with costumed drivers behind the wheels — will bring extra sparkle and cheer to downtown. The parade route is yet to be finalized but will start within the city and circle City Park, where hot chocolate, cookies and marshmallow roasting over fire pits will be available from 4:30PM-6PM. The parade will kick-off after the much-anticipated S.D. Ireland Holiday Mixer Truck has made its appearance downtown around 5PM.

Prizes will be awarded to parade entries for Best Lighting Design, Best Costume, and Best Theme.

We envision this event becoming one of Vergennes’ most eagerly-awaited traditions — a magical evening where hundreds gather to celebrate our rural roots, local creativity, and the community spirit that makes Vergennes so special.
